We had a little party for Wes with our family. He had a blast getting so much attention and fun presents. He also liked his basketball cake.
Trying to blow out the candle.

Weston turns One!
What Wes is up to at One...
He does most everything with his tongue poking out.
He loves balls.
He says mama, Josh, Dada, ball, and tssst for everything else.
He loves his big brother Josh and trys to do everthing he does including: get a drink from the fridge, climb up onto the chair and stand up to see out the window, ride his bike, climb the stairs, and play chase around the living room.
He claps and waves bye bye.
He puts everything in his mouth including things you wouldn't think would fit.
He loves to eat and does so much of the day. His favorite foods are...peas, blueberries, and anything Josh is eating.
He loves to take a bath and wants nothing to do with mom trying to hold onto him.
He hates to sleep. He slept through the night for the first time only a few days ago!
Josh likes to call Weston little guy.
He throws himself on the ground and throws his head back when he is upset, you take something from him, or you put him down.
He loves his Daddy and runs to greet him when he gets home from school.
He lights up and smiles when he sees his Mom enter the room.
We love our little Wes and are so glad he is part of our family. Happy Birthday little guy!

SNOW
I love Utah. It is so pretty here when it snows. Josh wants to play outside every day. Yesterday after I shoveled the sidewalk he decided to try to ride his bike in his snowsuit. He didn't get very far. As we walked into the house he said, "I want the snow to melt so I can go on a bikeride."

I had to post this picture. You can't see Weston's beautiful blue eyes but check out those lashes!
Wes isn't a big fan of playing in the snow. Lately when he gets mad he sits down and then throws his head back. I put him down in the snow and he was upset so he threw his head back. Poor marshmellow man.

Ben's Surgery
We have had some craziness at our house of late. Ben has enjoyed playing intramural flag football. His MBA team did very well playing against the young bucks. But in the middle of the season Ben hurt his right pinkie finger. He thought it was just jammed but 5 weeks later it was still bothering him. So I made him a doctor appointment and within a few days he had surgery! He had popped the tendon off his pinkie finger and they had to do a pretty major surgery to repair it. He actually has a button sewn to his fingernail. His right hand is now in a hard splint for 6 weeks...right through finals. I will be attending finals with him next week to be his scribe. Craziness! He has been so patient about it all. The end is in sight!
Ben is going to love that I posted this picture. This is right after surgery and all doped up. I need to post a picture of the button...it's pretty wild.

Catching Up...Halloween Fun
Josh and I made some scary zombie treats. Josh is making a scary face.
It was pretty difficult to get a good picture of both of my dragons.

Kids Say...
The other night Ben and Josh were playing. Josh had had enough tickling and told Ben to stop right now. Then he said, "Remember Dad you need to be nice to me cause Santa is watching."

Getting Married....
Somehow Josh is starting to put together love and marriage. It is really funny the stuff he comes up with. If he sees somebody in a white dress he askes if they are getting married. It is scary how much he understands, we watched Hercules the other night (not one I would recommend) and Josh was asking if Hercules and Meg were getting married. Whenever Ben and I hug or kiss in front of him he asks if we are getting married. I have told him we are already married, and we got married in the temple. Then today when I was feeding the boys lunch he says to me,
"Mom I have a good idea. I think you are getting married again tomorrow. You are getting married to Daddy at the temple. I am going to hang out with Wes. I will feed him blueberries and cookies. He will love that. We will hang out while you and Daddy go to the temple and get married."
It was pretty funny. So he doesn't completely understand....but we probably should go to the temple, nothing like a little advice from your 2 year old.

My Sweet Josh
I am so far behind posting pictures, but they will come soon. I wanted to post about my cute 2 year old for those days when I forget how sweet he can be.
The last couple of nights Ben has been at school late so I have made dinner for just me and the boys. When Ben's not home our dinner tends to be fast and substandard. Josh started eating his dinner, making "MMMMhhh" comments with each bite.
Then he says, "This is so good. Thanks Mom for making me yummy dinner."
Me: "You're welcome Josh."
Josh: "That was soooo nice of you. I think I am going to give you a big hug for being so nice."
He proceeds to give me a big hug. I was trying not to laugh at how cute he was. The next night we had a very similar conversation. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff, but he really is a sweetheart.

Time
Cameron would be five today. Can that really be true. I had to backtrack to each of his birthdays and count...is that really right, and it is. I cannot believe it has been more than 3 years since I've pressed my forehead to his and heard his little voice. I miss him just as much as I did 3 years ago. The missing is just as strong the hurt has subsided some. Time is such a strange measurement. I remember reading somewhere how time feels foreign to us because it is only a mortal measurement not an eternal one. I think about this when I think how long it's been since I've had my Cameron and how much longer till I see him again. I also think of this when I worry about him missing us. But today I will try to be glad for the time I had with Cameron, for the memories we made together and knowing that one day we will ALL be together without time in the way. .jpg)

from the mouth of Josh
A couple of weeks ago my dad took Josh on a horse ride. When they got back Josh got down and my dad, holding back tears, related the following conversation...
Josh tooted and then asked Papa, "Did you hear that?"
Papa: "Yes Josh, I felt it."
Josh: "I tooted."
Papa: "You did?"
Josh: "Yeah, I have another one coming. It's a big one, are you ready for it?"
We all laughed until we were crying. I do not know where he comes up with this stuff.

A Boy and his Bike
I have been wanting to buy Josh a bike for awhile. I am so glad I finally did. He loves it. It took him no time to figure it out and now he cruises. The first week or so he would fall coming down the driveway or if he turned a corner to sharp, but now he rarely falls and he goes down our driveway all by himself.
Last week we went up Hobblecreek on the trail. There were lots of hills but he did awesome.
He was careful going down and put his brakes on and then used his "mountain" legs to power up the hills. I was pretty impressed (not bad for a 2 year old).
And it was such a beautiful Fall day.

We went to the zoo to see the baby elephant. He sure was cute.
Riding the train with Grandma.
Look I'm a gorilla.
These howler monkeys were going crazy, screeching and singing. Wes was amazed and was trying to talk back to them.
My cute boys!

Helicopter
We were driving home from a picnic for Ben's school and saw this helicopter in the parking lot of BYU stadium. We decided to stop so Josh could see it. I think we just barely missed it landing. Josh loved it!
