Thank You

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all of our wonderful friends and family. Cameron's birthday was a wonderful day. I felt such peace and happiness throughout the day. Thanks to so many for praying for, thinking of us, and letting balloons go "high to the moon". I think the biggest fear for parents who have lost a child is that their child will be forgotten. Yesterday was a reminder that Cameron's influence has been and continues to be far reaching. He will never be forgotten and continues to teach us how to love.

Ben came home Saturday night with these beautiful tulips. Very sweet and sentimental. I planted bulbs the fall after Cameron died and then in the spring they bloomed. Our neighbors have said how nice it is when they come up again and remind them of us and Cameron. It just seems symbolic.....for a season in the cold ground but then to bloom in the sunshine of Spring.

Our precious little Cameron
Oh, how we love you so.

Your grin was sent from heaven
And your eyes just seemed to glow,

With knowledge of a deeper love,
One, we had yet to know.

We loved each day you spent on earth,
Filled with kisses, and a hurried touch,

That warmed our very soul.
Our memories are filled with much,
Like, balls and bats and small red shoes,
"Swinging to the Moon" and such. You learned it all with record speed,
Your quest, it knew no bounds.

You taught us all to live with love,
To grasp each new day found.

High to the Moon

Cameron's birthday is next Sunday, the 26th. I thought it would be neat to have friends and family wherever they may be let balloons go "high to the moon" on his birthday. Take a picture and email it to me. I saw this on somebody else's blog and it was really neat to see all the different pictures. I already have started a tradition of letting balloons go on Cameron's birthday, but thought it would be fun to invite all to join in since we are far from family this year. So if you feel so inclined join in....Thanks and loves to you all. We couldn't ask for better friends and family!

More Baby

Today I took Josh to the doctor with me. He was good but restless strapped into his stroller. The doctor did an ultrasound and then she pulled out the doppler to listen to the heartbeat. I love hearing the heartbeat. I told Josh to listen, and that it was the baby's heartbeat. He became still and serious as he heard the heartbeat. He put his finger to his mouth and said "shhh". Then when the doctor was done he said "More. More baby." The doctor got a page and so was in a bit of a rush. Josh continued to say "more baby" as we left. It was very cute, and makes me want to take him to all of my appointments.

No Daddy No!

Ben usually works from home, but today he had meetings and was gone. He came home at 3:30 to finish working. Josh of course got some rough and tumble playtime. Then Ben said, "OK I really have to get to work." Ben took his computer and went upstairs. When Josh realized Ben was done playing he ran after him, saying, "No Daddy No." He followed him all the way upstairs saying "No Daddy No." He turned around to me and said, "bye bye Mom" and blew me a kiss. Cracked us both up. I think it was the nonchalant matter of fact way he was saying, no daddy no. Josh sure does love his Dad.

Pumpkin Patch

I have been in such a sour mood lately. I could list all my complaints and we could have a little pity party, but I won't. Today I feel much better. Josh and I went to a pumpkin patch and had a blast. It was exactly what I needed...some beautiful fall air and a chance to run around with my cute little guy. I love watching him have the time of his life, which happens at least every day. I wish I had a picture of this giant slide that you go down on carpet squares. Josh had to do it all by himself. He told me at the top "Josh", which translates to Josh do it by himself. Then he would sit down and fly down the slide. You could barely see his blonde hair above the hay bales. He would get to the bottom, stand up, pick up his carpet square and say "more". Then, of course all by himself, hike back up to the top of the slide. Everybody was pretty enthralled with this tiny independant little guy flying over and over down the slide. I know every mother is biased, but my boys are just too cute.
